The California Local Emergency Planning Committee - Region I (LEPC - Region I)
is an association of appointed members from the counties of San Luis
Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, and Orange. The mission of the
LEPC - Region I is to protect the people, property, and natural resources
within its jurisdiction from the potential effects of emergencies involving
hazardous materials.
Who Can Join? Anyone working for a state/local
governmental agency, public or private organization within the counties listed
above can be appointed as a LEPC representative . Participating members
should have active positions dealing with Emergency Preparedness, Emergency
Response and/or Hazardous Materials Management.

How Do I Get Appointed? To be appointed to LEPC - Region
I, please provide your information to LEPC - Region I
and the proper representative will contact you directly.
What Does It Cost to Join LEPC - Region I? LEPC Region I
has no associated fees and appointed members volunteer their time.
Why Join LEPC - Region I? Being a participating member of
LEPC - Region I shows a commitment of your organization to Emergency
Preparedness, Response and Hazardous Materials Safety.
General meetings of the LEPC - Region I are held approximately every two months
and are open to the public. The location of the meeting is changes to
accomodate the region's large area.
