Why do we have Local Emergency Planning Committees?
LEPC Regions were developed from a Federal law called Emergency Planning
and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA). Learn
more about EPCRA and it's relevance to you.
Organization
The
Governor's Office of Emergency Services of California has six LEPC
regions. LEPC is dedicated to regional emergency planning efforts with
focus in the management of hazardous materials. Within LEPC regions are
local groups called Community Awareness and Emergency Response (CAER).
Join LEPC
The general public is encouraged to participate in both LEPC Region I and local
CAER efforts. Learn more about participating in LEPC
- Region I efforts or use the links below to learn more about
CAER groups.
